I am following a yt tutorial about VHS effects. its called "Retro VHS Look Effect Tutorial (no plugins) | Premiere Pro CC 2017"

At 1:40 he adds the wave warp effect. I follow this tutorial step by step.

My Premiere Project contains 1 Video and Audio. The Video length is about 1 minute. The Video was rendered in Blender and imported to Premiere as .avi .

When I add the wave warp to my project  I am not able to render the clip anymore. It slows down drastically in comparison to rendering before i added the wave effect.

It does not matter if I shorten the clip from 1 Minute to 10 seconds. It takes forever. The closer you get to 99% pre-render - the slower it gets.

What i've tried:

turning on and off cuda - and back on

putting the wave effect directly on my video material

deleting the whole project and making a new one

installing the rtx 3080 creative/studio driver

exporting to Adobe Media Encoder

Its just a simple wave effect, how can it kill the renderer?!

Sorry Niklas!

Can you try the effect in a brand new project? What happens?

Thanks,
Kevin

I made a new Project, put in another Video (longer version of the same video) and now it nearly runs smooth in preview mode without pre rendering.  The pre rendering works also fine now.

Really dont know whats wrong with the first file.

Anyway, thanks and greetings

Probably a corrupt timeline. It happens. Thanks, Niklas.
