All media disappeared from a project (HELP)

New Here ,
Mar 23, 2025 Mar 23, 2025

Any help appreciated.

I have been logged into a coworker's adobe account as they no longer use it. Today I changed the name, email and password of the account to my name. But now when I open premiere rush to continue work on a project, ALL of the media has disappeared (not offline). I was working on the project fine this morning. Nothing has changed apart from changing the account name.

Hey @rebekah_4134,

So the project still opens but the media is offline? If so, you can reconnect each clip by right-clicking and choosing to reconnect. Is it possible to log in to the older account still? If so, what happens? Let me know if the advice helps. I hope we can help you;

Thanks,
Kevin

Glad you were able to restore your projects. I don't think you can change Adobe IDs midstream on a project. Contact our agents here: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

Do you have any Cloud services connected to Rush, like iCloud or OneDrive? As I understand it, that's the root cause. You don't want Rush to touch folders managed by these services, @rebekah_4134.

Cheers,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin,

There was no option to reconnect, it was like I opened a new project. But I changed my account email back to the old one and it now opens fine. Looks like I can't change my email if I want to keep my project, which is a little annoying.

But another issue is that I have a lot of cloud project duplicates being created automatically and cluttering up the premiere rush app, when i open them there is nothing in them. There doesn't seem to be any way to stop new projects syncing with the cloud. (I only use local projects)
Thanks
