Audio Files Are Now Red With A Green Line Through Them

Adobe Employee ,
Oct 26, 2023 Oct 26, 2023

Hello,

I have been making videos in rush with two audio tracks. One music in the background with ducked audio and one with voice over the top. When I exit a project and come back to it the voice audio is no longer a functioning file (even though I have not deleted these files from my computer). The appear as a red box with a green line through them.

What is causing this and how do I fix it?

Thanks,

Hi @Vince23462100en3q,

Sorry about that. It looks like you have a clip which has its media disconnected from it. You can relink clip and media by right-clicking the clip and choosing Find and Connect. Does that work for you?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi @Vince23462100en3q,

Usually it occurs if you moved the files or changed the name of the folder the files were in—something like that. It happens to all of us quite regularly.

Thanks,
Kevin

@Kevin-Monahan that worked! Thank you! Is there any explanation as to why this happens?

@Kevin-Monahan ahh! That makes a lot more sense. I do move the files after I finish making the videos (but I do not delete them). I will reorder my working process to accommodate. Thank you!

I have the same problem, but when I click on "Find and Connect," a folder from my Pictures folder on the C:\ drive opens.

Hi @TruHoo,

Thanks for the message. Can you navigate and connect to the actual file in your App Data folder? Let the community know. Sorry for the frustration.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, when I follow the path and click on App Data, this is where it takes
me:

C:\Users\phvid\OneDrive\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\LUTs

Then there are two folders, "Input" and "Output" and both are empty.

Any further ideas? Thanks for your help.

Hi @TruHoo,

Strange. I try to avoid using any cloud services with NLE apps. That might be related. Next step would be to do a search of your PC for the title. See if that turns up the file. If not, you may need to reacquire it. Let me know if you need help with any of that. Sorry for the hassle.

Thanks,
Kevin
