Editing a video, do I need to make a copy?

If I edit a vido in Rush, am I permently changing it, or just the view of the video? In other words, do I need to make a copy of a video before I start editing it in case I need a part later that I am deleting now??

Thanks for writing in. Right, @Alan36511677p13a, Rush is non-destructive of your original clips. In other words, if you trim part of a clip in Rush, it's still there on the hard drive. Let us know how it goes. Sorry about the frustration.
