Hi,
I just got the new IPhone 16 and I started filming 4k videos or cinematic videos. Once I upload them to Premiere Rush it shows Media import error. It says unsupported media type. 1 of 1 media could not be imported.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

HDR and Cinematic Mode are not supported. The standard video setting should work fine, though. On your iPhone, choose Settings > Camera > Record Video, and disable HDR Video and Spatial Audio. Let me know if you have any trouble with it.

I simply turned off Spatial Audio and that seemed to resolve it...even with 4K resolutions.
Go to settings/camera and tap on Record Sound and switch from Spatial Audio to Stereo.

Hello Community,
I apologize for the continued lack of support for the current iPhone's HDR, HLG, or cinematic mode video files. I tried a test file and had the same results. You can use Media Encoder to transcode the files to H.264, and that works. Freeware Shutter Encoder can also be used to transcode the files to H.264 or your editing codec of choice. I tried both of these methods, and they work great. I hope the advice helps.
I don't have an iPhone to test with, but I would be checking the camera settings to see if you can shoot without HDR video. Then we'd be back in business.
Edit: The Rush team said that it is possible to shoot standard HEVC or H.264 video, which works with Rush. On your iPhone, choose Settings > Camera > Record Video, and disable HDR Video and Spatial Audio. Let me know if you have any trouble with it.

Rush is really great when it works, but "when it works" seems to always be in question. It's simply not a reliable program if you need something that you can depend on. I've been a paying user for 3 years now and each time I go to work on a video I never know if it'll work like it's supposed to OR if I'll have problems. More often than not, I have problems. It's time for me to move on to something more dependable, so Inwill not be renewing my subscription. It's just too bad, I have really gotten good at using it. Very disappointing.

Everything should work fine as long as you shoot ordinary H.264 video, not HDR HEVC and that you disable HDR Video and Spatial Audio. Let me know if you have any other issues.

Try this: Go to Settings > Camera > Record Video, and disable HDR Video and Spatial Audio. Rush should then work fine for you.
