Premier Rush uncompatible with all formats on iPhone 16

I recorded various videos to develop after in rush as I used to do ever since. But now from an iPhone 16 with pretty much factory settings still. Nothing too crazy or pushing the camera or format abilities.. And kept getting an Uncompatible format message over and over again. I went online and found many of this problems are related to the format or how is recorded. Therefore I procedure to record a video in every single way and format that this device allows me to. However none were compatible with the app at the end.

Digging further online I found some posts bringing up solutions, suggesting to convert your files before importing and so. But personally I think the subscription we pay is high enough to have to go through such trouble before being even able to edit/postproduce our footage..

hopefully a solution is soon to come.

Are you shooting ProRes RAW and HDR? Sorry, that isn't supported. Try plain vanilla H.264 no HDR.

Dang, @multitalented_Gem6881! Sorry. That is a puzzler. Can you upload a test clip to GoogleDrive or DropBox and PM me the link? As a fellow Rush user and in the market for a new iPhone, I'm anxious to help you find a solution. Thanks for helping if you can.

Thanks,

Kevin

Yup, most compatible settings are on. So frustrating tbh.
I mean, I get a new phone with remarkable features regarding camera and such in order to enhance my content and at the end I am not able to; but only because of the app I used to rely on.. please fix this problem asap

I just saw a screenshot of what iPhone 16's "most compatible mode" is these days. If it's ProRes RAW or Cinematic Mode, that won't be supported, @nahscript. Do you have a screenshot of your Camera Settings that I can check out? I hope to help you.

Cheers,
Kevin

Which format are you shooting, @Anthony30054851a7ac? "Most Compatible Mode" may have changed with the new device. Show us a screenshot of your Camera Settings, please. If you are shooting ProRes RAW, it isn't supported. I hope I can help you troubleshoot.

FYI: check out Project Violet, a new iOS mobile video editing app Adobe Research is working on. Sorry for the frustration, hope we can assist.

Cheers,
Kevin

I had to return the new iPhone until you guys fix this issue. I shoot in 1080p/60fps. The same format I was shooting in with my iPhone 14 Pro Max (and am doing so again now because iPhone 16 is not compatible for some reason with your program).

If you look at other threads, all video formats are not importing properly if you're using an iPhone 16, so please fix this!

I just tried Violet based off your recommendation and I am very pleased with it. Thanks for recommending it. I wish I didn't return the iPhone 16 so fast. I can totally just move my work flow over to violet, which I assume was your guys goal anyway after seeing how much more updated it is compared to Rush.

Hello @Anthony30054851a7ac,

Thanks for the message. I really appreciate your candor. I have been trying to push iOS users to Violet for a while now, and I'm so glad you found it. I apologize you had to make the decision to return the phone already. Sounds frustrating. I hope you can work that out.

Violet seems to be the direction that Adobe is taking with mobile video editing. Since it has been developed by Adobe Labs, you can be sure that you'll see many of the feature requests that Rush users have been asking for. Feel free to ask any questions about it. Just start a new thread.

Cheers,
Kevin

I still have the iphone 16 in the return box ready to send back.  Have you heard of any compatibility issues with Iphone 16 users and Violet?  I have half a mind of setting it back up and cancelling the return, but it is a hassle to set it up and transfer everything over again just to find out Rush and Violet have the same compatibility issue..  Any way to confirm this for me before i go through that process?
