Premiere Rush Not Supporting PNG Files

I created an overlay in illustrator and exported as a png file (RGB).  Premiere Rush does not allow me to upload the png. It keeps saying it's an unsupported file. I find it very strange for premiere rush to not support png files. Anyone know how I can fix this?

That is strange since it is supported. https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-rush/help/import-footage.html

What happens if you export the same file as PNG from, say, Photoshop or another program?
