Rush cannot see my h264 MKV files?

I've noticed this seems to have been an ongoing problem for some customers since 2021.

My files are stock standard MKV's recorded with OBS. Rush is able to see files fine - for instance there is a JPG in my videos folder that Rush can see, but my MKVs do not show up. It can see a number of MP4's and MOV's I've downloaded, but not these. Even if I extract the h264 from the MKV container and convert it to AVI Premier Rush still does not recognise it.

I just installed Rush today, wanting to try it out.

Hi @David26409033rheb

I know your post is old. I encounter the problem and this is what I have for solution. I used OBS itself to convert the movie to mp4 then upload to Rush. This is how it worked. Inside OBS go to File and select "Remux Recordings" , select file and click to brouse and select your MKV file you want to convert. Choose Ouput: OBS will automatically set the output file to MP4. Click "Remux" to start the conversion.

My file is 45 sec long it took about 2sec to convert.

Sorry, this is a user-to-user forum. I will let the team know. In the meantime, @Neceros, you can transcode in any FFMPEG encoding suite, like freeware, Shutter Encoder. Sorry for the hassle.

Cheers,
Kevin
