Rush not including audio when importing video tracks

Community Beginner ,
Apr 23, 2020 Apr 23, 2020

I'm running Rush on a OnePlus 7 pro and it's as smooth as silk. Love it.

One problem.

When I attempt to import HD video files from my Fuji XH1 camera rush does not include audio in the clip.  Video plays great.

I can play the same clip on the same phone with a different media player, so I'm sure audio is there.  Video recorded by the

phone plays in Rush with audio.

Hi there!

Thanks for writing in. Could you share more info with us?

  • What type of media files are they ( codec/ format)?

I wonder if it's listed under supported formats: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/premiere-rush/help/import-footage.html#file-format-support

Looking forward to your response.

Fuji XH1 camera output video file specs:

VIDEO : MOV H.264,
high bitrate.50-200 Mb/sec
Audio,. PCM 48000 Hz @ 1356 kbps

I have read your Acceptable specs grid.
Does not mention MOV files.
One user group recommends converting to:
MP4 .264, bitrate same as source
Audio change PCM to AAC @256kbps.
Have not yet been successful with my attempts.
Still trying.

I was able to transfer video to my phone using Fuji camera app installed on
phone.
I can also transfer direct to phone with high speed SD chip reader.

Video played on the phone but not when imported to RUSH.
My phone is a OnePlus 7 pro with high capacity memory and processor:
256GB ROM,
8GB RAM.
Snapdragon h855 processor.
Android sys 10.
I LOVE love love the way Rush runs on this device!!
Super smooth and no lag or stutter.

What I'm doing is creating web content on the fly on location.
Heavy equipment tutoruals with sound on tape and B roll.
Occasionally I'll need to use video lenses I can't emulate on the phone,
like GoPro or cine lenses.

I'm using a free trial of Media Encoder.
still learning particulars, source and destination files.

Hi Jack,

It would be super helpful if you can upload a file from your Fuji XH1 camera that we can look at. We'd be happy to look into it and see why those files are not working correctly.

Thanks,

Peter

These files are usually too big for email attachment.
Another plan?

Thanks for the quick response.  Can you upload it to Dropbox, Google, WeTransfre, etc? You can share the link here or DM me if you want to keep it private.

Thanks again!

Peter

Hi Jack,

Thanks for sending over the file. I was able to download and verify the issue. We're investigating how to resolve now. It seems to only occur on Android. Sorry for the trouble. If you have the ability, you can use files from Fuji camera on desktop and iOS or transcode your file.

I'll update once we have resolved this. Thanks for your patience and for bringing this to our attention.

Peter

I suspect PCM audio at that bitrate is too dense to process quickly.

I'm hoping to avoid updating my old Acer which only has 6GB RAM. Windows
10. 8 years old.

I'm running free trial Media Encoder on the Acer and it appears to be
working fine.
Experamenting.... Learning curve.
Premier and Rush don't work on the Acer.
Programs load but edits stall.

Blogger suggested I try converting
Video MOV HD 50 - 200 mbps files
PCM 1536 from Fuji XH 1
to
Video MP4 same mbps as original.
Audio :ACC at 256 kbps.

My application is to quickly produce voice over tutorials with B roll from
location.
Speed, clarity more important than beauty.

Thanks for taking this on.
I repeat how happy I am with Rush on OnePlus 7 pro phone.
Near perfect with onboard video cameras.
Happy to recommend.

Thanks for the great feedback Jack. I'm glad Rush is mostly working for you 😉 I'd love us to get all the way there though. Creating the mp4 files should help with the editing and audio coming in. Android prefers mp4 files to mov.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers!

Peter
