I've noticed if I create a project and use the stock audio (soundtracks, sound effects, loops, etc.) if I close the project and go back to it later, audio track is showing in red in my project timeline and the actual audio is missing / unlinked. This happens frequently and is quite frustrating. Any fix to this? Or just a glitch?
Hi there!
Sorry to hear that. Which device are you using? Is your project synced to Creative Cloud? https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-rush/help/project-syncing-premiere-rush.html
Let us know.
Thanks,
Kartika

I've noticed this too using stock audio soundtracks in my Adobe Rush projects (I'm using Mac btw), where I browsed for, and added, the audio within Rush (Audio > Browse > Search > Select soundtrack > Add).
After a bit of poking around, I found when I added some stock audio, the audio file it references in the project is to a folder under "/var/folders", in my case it was "/var/folders/0t/t85dsgzd6d93ssh50b_tx6wh0000gr/T/AudioFiles/soundtracks/Balla Mio Bello.m4a"
This folder is used for per-user temporary files on a Mac, and can be cleared out by the operating system (e.g. after 3 days of a file not being used).
This _might_ explain why it suddenly goes missing..
Not sure if it's a bug or a feature though?

Close to the issue I'm experiencing.
I re-open a project I was previously working on, and the stock audio soundtrack (Experimental Glacier Drums and Pads), is still visible at the bottom, but there's no audio soundwaves indicated in it. It's still colored green though - just no sound waves. My first thought was somehow Adobe Rush stopped including that track so it disappeared. I now have to go back in and re-add the track. One thing I wish was that Adobe included a lot more ambient sounding soundtracks to choose from as part of the subscription.

Any fix to this yet? I experience this, as well. Very frustrating. @Kartika Rawat thank you

I've just encountered this as well on my MBP. It's about 16 hours since I added the music tracks (from the stock provided). I thought I'd finished and also exported the file. But opening up Rush to make another tweak - the music tracks are shown green in the right parts of the timeline but have no waveform and no sound.

I have exactly the same problem on my iMac (2020, Sonoma 14.5).
After closing/opening the Adobe Premiere Rush, the audio files (music provided on the Adobe Premiere Rush) are shown without any wave images and can not be haerd.
Any update to this issue?

Everything looks fine here, Bruce. My Mac is a bit newer, however. Which version of Rush are you running?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hey Bruce,
Thanks for the message. I have a similar setup, except I'm on a newer MacBook Pro. I'm not seeing the issue. Can you try reinstalling? Let us know if it works.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
As you suggested I uninstalled and reinstalled the Premiere Rush.
I tested again with the same file but unfortunatly the audio track is still missing, no change.
Thanks

Hi,
I still have the same problem (missing audio track) after closing/opening the Adobe Premiere Rush.
I've already uninstalled/reinstalled the Premiere Rush but the problem persists.
Any news or update regarding this issue?
Thanks

I have the same issue and am using a 16-inch MacBookPro from 2019 running Mac OS 14.6.1. Rush is version 2.10.0 (build 30). Very frustrating.

Hello @Hollister_InzTanz,
This bug may have to do with Intel-based Macs. @bruce-rez, @gerahd39245225, @Hollister_InzTanz, @jr61800167, @JKThree - do any of you have Apple Silicon-based Macs? Let me know.
Thanks,
Kevin

...and my laptop's a new M3 Pro.
It doesn't inspire confidence to do a full edit in anything other than a single session, sad to say.

I have Intel.

Just noting this has happened yet again on my M3 Macbook Pro. The machine has not been turned off, but returning to open Rush I find the audio files reduced to flat lines which will need to be found and connected. Why does this issue take years to address?

Hi @jr61800167,
Is this with the stock audio or other audio files? If the latter, are your audio files on the computer or are they located via an external drive?
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks for asking - I was using one of the stock music files bundled as part of Rush, all on my Mac, less than two months after purchase. The same happened with other projects on my previous Macbook Pro running an earlier OS but the same Photography plan. Reopening Rush shows the position, name and edits to the audio file (eg cuts to it). But not the actual sounds themselves. There's never an issue with the imported video itself, or the captions either, no matter how often I open and close, restart or switch off. As everyone says on forums...any help appreciated. Or a payrise for the full Premier (if indeed that will behave itself)

Oh, OK, @jr61800167. Thanks for the info. Did you move the project from one computer to another?
Thanks,
Kevin

No. This is a problem I've found when I start a project, then close down the app and come to reopen it a day or so later on the same device. Any supposedly linked audio is shown as present still but absent of sound and unable to find to reconnect, even the app's own music options. As I hoped to describe, it was happening on my old MBP last year. It's disappointing that it continues to happen with totally fresh and unrelated projects on my M3 running Sonoma now.

I take it after all this time no one has found a fix for this?

Hi @jr61800167,
Thanks for the post. Since your issue is appearing on all Macs and not just Intel-based Macs, I suspect the bug is related to how your app is installed and whether anything like Dropbox, Google Drive, or iCloud is involved with these files. That can be a problem. Is that the case? I hope we can help you. Sorry for the frustration.
Thanks,
Kevin
