Video length longer than content

I created a sequence because I thought that would be better, just for context. I added a bunch of audio files to edit them for later and in total the length ended up being more than an hour. 

After a BUNCH of editing I have trimmed it down to less than 30 minutes but that video length is still more than an hour I don't know how to shorten the actual timeline. Does anyone have any suggestions, I thought it would automatically conform to my content length.

• Have you tried exporting the video? Does it show the same length?

I have duplicated it and it duplicates in its entirety. I have not yet
tried to export it yet, I will try to complete it before exporting.
