Hi, I'm trying to find where my project is stored on my iPad. I have a Creative Cloud account do I assume it's leaving a copy there. But with storage space being a premium on mobile devices, I'd like to track how much space it's taking up. Thanks.
Hi @veesix,
Thanks for the message. Sorry the link from the product team was not helpful.
Where do Rush projects get saved on mobile devices?
Project file data from Rush is stored mainly in Creative Cloud. Some essences of the project file data exist on your device but they are not available to access.

Some of the project info is held in Creative Cloud, while other info is local. More info from the product team here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-rush-discussions/where-does-rush-store-project-files/td-p/10...
Sorry for the frustration.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks for the link but it wasn't helpful in my case. Let me ask a few more specific questions.
Where do Rush projects get saved on mobile devices?
With storage space at a premium on my iPhone / iPad I’d like to understand how my projects are being saved.
- Where does Rush save projects?
- Does it make a copy of a video from my camera roll into the project or does it work from the original video?
- If I’m using cloud sync does it copy that video to my MacBook so I can continue my project there?
Thank you.

Again, project file data is stored in the Creative Cloud. The items taking up space on your device is mainly the media. You can delete and/or backup the media after you have completed the project.

It uses the original video files.
If I’m using cloud sync does it copy that video to my MacBook so I can continue my project there?
It's possible but you do have to have a premium subscription, a subscription to Creative Cloud All Apps, a Premiere Pro subscription, or a subscription to Adobe Express. A free subscription called "Starter Mode" does not include this feature. Which subscription to Rush do you have? I hope we can help.
Thanks,
Kevin

Ok, so I think you're saying I need the ability to 1) share my files between different platforms (mobile, desktop) by using CC and 2) use Premiere Pro to edit my files on my desktop. Is that right?
I have Rush on my iPad, the Adobe Design Mobile bundle on my iPad, and nothing on my desktop (yet). I have a CC account though I don't know if I have a subscription through the bundle I subscribed to. To be honest, this is pretty confusing.
also I need clarification on how video files exist in projects. You said it works from the original video files and doesn't make a copy in the project. But the original video in my camera isn't actually being affected, right? If I'm making edits it's not going to reflect in the original video. So when I add media to a project to edit, is that a copy? If so, where is that stored while I'm editing? Is it working from CC? Thanks.

Hi @veesix,
Thanks for the response.

Yes, to work between Rush mobile and desktop versions you need a CC subscription. A premium subscription to Rush works, and an Adobe Express one would work for this, as well. You do not need to use Premiere Pro unless you want to use some of its advanced features after finishing, say, a rough cut in Rush, but with a CC subscription you can do that.

I need more info. You need one of the subscriptions I mentioned, or you will only be able to use the Rush Starter version. Let me know exactly which kind of CC subscription you are paying for and I can help guide you.
Ok, I need clarification on how video files exist in projects. You said it works from the original video files and doesn't make a copy in the project.
Yes, the original files are referenced when they are imported. Proxies are automatically created in your Creative Cloud folder from these files in the background so that you can edit video easier on all these devices, as well.

Yes. Clips just reference the original media; it is not a destructive process.
So when I add media to a project to edit, is that a copy? If so, where is that stored while I'm editing? Is it working from CC? Thanks.
When you import media into a project, it is referencing the original video. When you change or alter the clip with a video effect, it creates a new file using the original clip as source. These are stored as video preview files, which you can manage in preferences.
I hope that advice helps.
Thanks,
Kevin
