The vlog theme is very popular and an easy way to get started in creating videos. All you need is your phone's camera or a camcorder and you can get started.

 

A wide variety of subjects can be undertaken in any vlog and it's probably the most popular source of content on YouTube today. These subjects, sometimes referred to as "niches" can lend themselves to stories, and that is what you need to retain viewers for your vlog; story.

 

  • You might have a bit of difficulty getting started with story ideas to shoot, but do not worry. Just get some ideas going and you'll be on your way. Ideas  for story along these lines tend to perpetuate new ideas for more stories.
    • Check out the following article if you are feeling a little unsure about creating personal videos: Brainstorming for Vlogging. See if you can't come up with a series of stories for your vlog like I did for my old cars.
  • After you've decided on your overall theme or "niche," you can begin coming up with individual stories for that theme. Here's how.
  • Once you've come up with some ideas for story, you can start write an optional A/V script. Not every vlog you shot requires an A/V script. You might feel that a shot list is enough for you. That said, if you do need more concise vlog content, you might need one for some, if not all, of the vlog. For those occasions, plan to write an A/V script. Here's how.
