I did a simple video edit of (cut-to-cut speeding and some transitions).
After I edit, my exposure, Rush freezes and also freeze my MacBook pro.
After I add sound-effect (10sec mp3) Rush freezes and also freezes my MacBook pro.
I downgrade from last version 1.5.2 to 1.5.1 and 1.5.0 and that phenomena still occurs.
Thanks for the info provided. Ideally, screen recording files are the variable frame rate. They could cause the playback issue and sometimes make the application works slow. I'd personally recommend you transcode your files using software like HandBrake. You can also try by reducing the frame size of your media files and see if it's creating the same behavior.
Let us know how it goes.
