.ali file is empty

When I compile the help project, the resulting .ali file has 0 KB. Without the .ali file showing the map ids and the numbers, our developer is unable to proceed forward. What do I need to do to generate a valid .ali file? All .hh files for this project do reside in the folder.

To generate an .ali file in RoboHelp, you can go to the Edit MapIDs dialog and assign topics to the map IDs from the .hh file. You can also create the .ali file manually in Notepad or other text editor. The syntax is IDH_YOURMAPID=Yourtopicfilename.htm.
