Hi all,
RoboHelp HTML V7
I have been relatively problem free for a while but here is a new one...
At least one user of my company's software is complaining that the application crashes when the HTMLHelp file is invoked from the menu (i.e. Help -> Content)
Has anyone had a similar problem?
I am wondering if the problem is coming from how i have my Windows set up in the project. I generate multiple .chm files from each RoboHelp project. In the Window Properties (HTML Help) dialog, i attemt to deselect the Windows that are not pertinent to the current Window but when i click OK then open the dialog back up, all windows are again selected in the "Windows to Display" area of the dialog. I have to make the Placement properties all the same for all windows so that when i compile the .chm, the windows are not overlapping (i.e. the wrong window does not show up).
My guess is that i may be doing this wrong but i have not had any other problems in the past. I tried looking in the RoboHelp helpfile for answers on how to set up the windows but it was not much help.
Thanks in advance.

The windows that show in that list are just the windows that are available in the project. Unticking them only hides them in that dialog box, so you can see the changes you are making to a particular window. It doesn't have any effect on the output (i.e. having 5 windows ticked does not mean 5 windows open when you open the help file. I believe the window that will be used for a chm is defined in each single source layout (Default Window field).
I'm afraid I can't help with the crashing problem, apart from saying it's not because you are ticking or unticking the Windows to Display checkboxes.
If it's only happening to one user, perhaps the html help viewer isn't installed correctly on their pc. There is an app called MJ's Diagnostics which might be of use. A little information and a link can be found here. The link is at the top, but a little more info is available at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for your help Amber!
I am going to point the finger back at the user's computer.
