I am new to RoboHelp (9) and have successfully created an index by following one of the online tutorials. It occurs to me that if index words can only access target files at the topic level, their use is somewhat limited. Is it possible to, for example, index a section within a topic, such as a h1 or h2 or some bookmarked word or phrase using RH indexing feature, and if so, how would one achieve this? Thanks.

You say you are using RoboHelp 9. I don't know what output you are hoping to create but webhelp outputs are unlikely to work with modern browsers. RoboHelp 9 is a very old version.

Thanks Peter. I'm using RH9 to create chm output that I hook up to a Java desktop application by referencing the file with a call to Runtime.getRuntime().exec("hh.exe G:/RH_projects/RH_Project.chm"); It works really well, far better than javahelp and oraclehelp that I had been struggling with without total success.

CHMs don't change to 9 is fine. JavaHelp and Oracle help weren't very good even when they were supported.
