Certificate Weirdness

RoboHelp HTML Version 8

I've been generating my AIRHelp to a folder on the local network for ages with no problem. I've been using a self-signed certificate (p12 format). Today, I switched to a "real" certificate from Verisign (pfx format), but for some strange reason, towards the end of the generation process, I get this error:

---------------------------
Adobe AIR
---------------------------
Adobe AIR output could not be generated.

'\\company.local\Local_Storage\Corporate_Organization\All_Departments\live-docs\xxx\xxx\files'

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

...then I click OK, everything stops, and no Help is generated. The files folder does get populated with quite a few files, but for some reason the process stops there.

If I switch back to the old certificate, everything works fine again.

Any ideas?

I found the solution in another thread:

  1. Double click and install the certificate from the windows explorer.
  2. Open Internet Explorer and navigate to Tools > Internet Options > Content Certificates
  3. Select the certificate you just imported and click Export.
  4. Select Yes, export the private  key.
  5. Select Include all certificates... and Delete the private key...
  6. Complete the wizard and change the file extension to p12.

I had problems with changing the extension to P12 but using PFX worked fine.

I have now added detailed instructions on the procedure at http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/air/8/air_rh8.htm
