Compatibility error message

New Here ,
Sep 14, 2010 Sep 14, 2010

Hi,

I have just installed Adobe RoboHelp 8 on my computer. My colleague sent me a copy of the company's

help file and although she has created the file also on version 8, the following error message is displayed when

I attempt to open the file:

This project is from a newer version of the program. This project no longer compatible with this version.

Please make sure you have the newest version installed.

Once again, both my colleague and I have the same version number.

Are there certain project settings needed when sharing files? How do I resolve this issue?

Thank you for your assistance.

OKaye

Hi OKaye.

Make sure you have all the RH8 patches installed. It could be that your fellow user has installed them and you haven't. You'll find them all here.

Thank you for your quick and accurate response! The file opened in seconds after I

uploaded the fixes.

Hi there

This is just to clarify the response for anyone that may discover this thread down the road.

There is nothing to upload. Instead, what has to happen is that the RoboHelp author downloads and installs a couple of patches.

Usually this is done via Help > Updates...

Cheers... Rick
