Hello everyone,
I have currently installed Robohelp 9 and Robosource Control 3.1 to a new desktop. I have accessed robosource 3.1 to my desktop and logged in successfully. I can see all the files that are in robosource control 3.1. When I open up robohelp 9 I want to be able to view my files that are in robosource control 3.1. Does anyone know how I can link both of them up together? I want to be able to checkin and checkout files through robohelp 9 if I need to make changes to them. Thanks.
J

Hi "J"
I wasn't clear whether you had actually "added your project" to RoboSource Control yet. Once you do, then you can open the project from the database in the Rh authoring tool.
I have created a couple of Captivate demos and written and article on Adobe Dev Net that may help with the process. They are old and deal with older versions. However, the basics are pretty much the same even for the latest version.
The main thing to remember is to work within the RoboHelp application when doing any RoboSource Control related activities (check-in, check-out, adding projects, etc.)
Note: There are a lot of "moving parts" to the workflow. To get comfortable with it, you will want to create a test project and try it out first. Once you are comfortable with the process, it's not difficult.

Wow John great instructions but I have one more problem. I got the project to open and what I did was made a folder in my desktop and all the files are there from robosource 3.1. When I open Robohelp 9 many of the files show a red X on top of it like it cant find it for some reason. Any help on this issue?
Thanks for all your help.

I have been working on this all day I think I know the problem. On my sourcecontrol 3.1 how do you update it meaning the dates that are showing 8/2/2012 those are the ones that are editable but the files for previous months have a red X and cant edit. Basically I cant view the file. Anyone can help me out with this?
Thanks,
J
