Greetings,

How do I configure my project to make these tabs appear?

The appropriate boxes are checked, but these tabs do not appear in the compiled output.

Your question is not clear - where do you expect the tabs to appear - in the UI or in the final output? what are the steps leading to this error? Did you try the sample projects which ship with RoboHelp and if same error is appearing with them?
You may also want to post this to General Discussion forum and check if someone else has faced this issue earlier.

Also, for WebHelp output, there are check boxes to select these toolbar buttons - Content, Index and Search. This is on top of the second screen in the SSL wizard.

I (somehow) got the compiled help to work as desired, however I also had changed several things at once. Could you please tell me how to invoke the SSL wizard, ro how some other methods of accessing these controls in an existing project?

Thanks.

OK I had a project corrupt on me, so I am re-creating it.
I am back at this point again and this thread isn't clear.

My goal is to see an Index, TOC, and a Contents tab in the final compiled help system.

There appear to be two dialogs that control these tabs.

The first is 'HTML Help Options - Microsoft HTML Help' and the second is 'HTML Help Options - Advanced Settings'

I've used 'New Window" as the 'Default Window' selection in the three places it is available in these two dialogs
and I chose 'Same Frame' in the 'Default Frame' selection area.

Are these setting correct or do I need to do something else to get tabs to appear?

LATEST
Even with the Index and TOC boxes checked, my compiled output failed to show TOC and Index tabs.

One of the TCS blog posts has a video that provided the solution.

The default TOC is 'baked in', cannot be deleted, and the 'default' setting cannot be moved from it to another TOC.

To fix:
Create your own TOC -- ideally from your Frame TOC (IMHO).

In the 'Default' TOC, add a TOC placeholder (effectively a pointer) pointing to the TOC you created.

Hoever you choose to create an index, do the same thing -- use an INdex placeholder.

This was my experience. Only after I performed these steps did the tabs appear as desired in my project's compiled output.

BTW: If any of the above is incorrect, please post a correction. Thanks.
