Hello,
I am using RH 9 with RH 9 Server and testing our context sensitive help mapping. The mappings appears successful, however, the correct topic opens in 3 separate tabs inside IE9.
Why the redundancy?
I am using a two-pane Window with Default Browser Settings checked. I am using a skin (Chrisi) with Contents, Search, Index, and Glossary enabled.
I have no issue with how it is displayed only that it opens 3 tabs every time.
I have looked through the forums and read through Grainge.org.
Any guidance is most appreciated.
Thanks,
Julie

UPDATE...The developer assisting in this project found that the problem is only IE. Chrome and Firefox work as long as pop-ups are enabled. Is anyone aware of any hot fixes or patches for RoboHelp 9 that would update the window.js code to properly open in IE9?

Julie,
I had this problem years ago in an earlier version of RoboHelp Server. We are now upgrading to RoboHelp Server 9 and they still have not fixed this issue. Making our users disable their popup blocker is just not an acceptable option. This forum post has the workaround that fixed it for us so that the page does not open in a popup.

I have opened a ticket with our admins to see if the workaround can be put in place. I will post back if they are successful in following the thread's instructions for the workaround. Ultimately, if they are, I will also affirm that it worked for our CSH.
In the meantime, is anyone aware when RH Server 10 may be out and whether or not this issue will be systemically resolved in the new version?
Thank you very much jw1726354!

Only certain people at Adobe would be able to tell us what their plans are for the next RoboHelp Server release. New versions of the product have normally been released in line with the RoboHelp client application. For example RoboHelp 8 and RoboHelp Server 8, RoboHelp 9 and RoboHelp Server 9. For RoboHelp 10 which was released back in July, this was not the case and RoboHelp Server 9 remains the latest release.
I'd strongly advise everyone affected by this issue to submit a feature request via the link below. Only if this is done will the Product Manager and others see the issues that are being caused.
