Deleting all index entries from designer

New Here ,

How do I delete all the index entries on the Index Designer? It seems you can only delete one at a time. Do I have to open the HHK file to delete all the index entries? And if yes, do I leave any text in the HHK file?

Hi barb_documentation and welcome to the RH communiyy.

You can just keep your finger pressed down on the delete key. It deletes the entries one at a time but it's fairly quick. The other option is to close the project and edit the .HHK file. An empty file should look like:

<html>
<!-- Sitemap 1.0 -->
<object type="text/site properties">
<param name="SiteType" value="index">
</object>
<ul>
</ul>
</html>

Even easier,

With RoboHelp not running, in Windows rename the HHK file just to have a backup. It doesn't matter whether you move it or leave it there.

Launch the project in RH, which will generate a new, initialized HHK file. If you change your mind and want to go back to the original, rename the newer one and restore the original name to the original HHK file.

A little trickier, but doable, is merging the two HHK files with a text editor (RH not running), if that's what you need.
