Do I use WebHelp to export my completed help files?

New Here ,

I have completed my new help files using roboHelp 7.0.  They are ready to export.

I have looked through the RoboHelp files, but am unclear what I need to do to export them.  There is a file called WebHelp, but does it contain all of the help files I have created?  Or do I have to put them there?  If so, how?

Thanks!

Hi there

The WebHelp you see should be a folder, not a file. What you need to do is to copy everything inside that folder where you want it to end up.

In the Single Source Layout recipe, you should be able to configure a Publish destination. By doing that, when you generate, you should then see a button that is labeled "Publish" that, when clicked, will copy the content to where you want it to end up.

Cheers... Rick

No, you're generating the help at this point; publishing it copies it from the generated location and puts it up on your webserver. Try setting your generate locaton to your local c:\ drive - usually the default is c:\projects\project_name\!SSL!\Webhelp\

Thanks, Jeff!

What I need to do is compile the help files and send them to our developers.  I can't seem to find out how to do that in the help instructions.

I have that file you mentioned saved in my project folder on my network drive.

Edit:  I do NOT have it on the network drive.....

Do I need to create it on my C drive so I can send it out?

Thanks!

Rick,

That did the trick! Thanks!

The folder that i created can now be sent to the developers and plugged in as the help files, correct?
