Yes. What database depends on how the RoboHelp Server context has been setup. You can have a MS Jet database (not designed for a production environment, an SQL Server DB  or Oracle DB, See Recommended OS/database combinations for RoboHelp Server « Technical Communication Suite for further details.

Just so we are clear, the RH content is published to the server. The analytics information is stored in the database that also resides on the same server.

We need a separate web server and database server. All the content must be in the database. It looks like RoboHelp Server might not be the right architecture.

Web Server > XSLT

                                        > Client Web Page XSLT/XML

Database Server > XML

I am afraid so. With RHS you publish the content to the webserver and the database there collects the usage data.
