Hi
We’re on RH V2020.7.46
We want to change the display of search results from the default display
Currently, the output displays a bread crumb trail and an inexact copy of what is desribed in the topic
1) We'd prefer to remove the breadcrumb trail completely.
2) We also question the precision of the topic description section; you can see this is not using the same capitalization or spacing, and ignores bullets in the topic.
We searched the forum and found this previous thread concerning this issue:
First we attempted to follow this suggestion:
"Select "result-item-path" and open "LAYOUT" section properties on right-adjacent side. Now select value "none" in "display" property. Save the skin and generate the output. It should hide the paths in search results of the output. Please let us know if it still doesn't work."
We aren't finding the 'result-item-path' and in our Layout Tab > Seach Result, we don't have the display property being mentioned.
Next, we tried adding the custom.css to the User Assets section of the skin, and when that didn't work, adding the suggested text to the Layout.css. Saved, Relaunched etc. Preview didn't show any changes, and generating did not help for either suggestion
The thread included a few specific questions and those were identified to be bugs.
Does anyone have suggestions on what our next steps might be?
Thank you,
Paul

The initial instructions are for Frameless skins only. From your screenshots, you're using Responsive HTML5 (the icon of a shielf with a 5 inside). So the instructions for the stylesheet are the ones you need to follow. If you downloaded the stylesheet from the link and added that into each skin you wanted to remove the path from, it should work (I'm pretty sure it worked in RH2020.5). It is possible they changed the underlying code slightly though, you'd have to check the current code using the browser developer tools - right-click on the search breadcrumbs, then select Inspect (if using Chrome). The Dev Tools will open with whatever you clicked on selected. The Styles panel should help you determine if the correct style is specified, but you might need to examine the html parent elements. If you're not familiar with CSS and HTML I recommend asking a friendly developer for help.
For the description, I don't think it was ever intended as an accurate representation of the text. Rather it was to provide some context to the search tem, so the user could make a more informed decision about the relevance of the topic. (I personally agree the capitalisation shouldn't change, but I think it's a fairly minor issue given the intent of the search result text).
In the output preset in the Search tab there are a few different options for what text displays. Perhaps one of those will suit your needs better.
