End user printing books in RH9 WebHelp?

Guest

Is it possible for end users to print a book from the TOC in RH 9? Ideally, it'd be great for users to enter keywords in the Search, and print whatever topics they wish from the list of results. I don't think that is possible, so my next solution would be to allow end users to print chapters/books from the generated WebHelp. Any help on this or suggested workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

You would have to create the Word / PDF file yourself using the Printed Documentation single source layout. This could be added to the TOC at the start of the book or embedded / linked in from a topic. If you are using WebHelp Pro output (although this would require the additional RoboHelp Server licence) you can place PDFs on the server which are found by search results. I do not believe this functionality is available with WebHelp. Either way, there is no way for the end users to enter a keyword and generate a printed document as a result.

One other way would be to have a topic which is just a holder for the Word / PDF file. If you apply the correct index keywords, topic title or even topic property keywords it would be found by the search. The user could then open the topic and print the embedded file.

Thank you Colum! These were the workaround solutions I was looking for.
