Error Creating a new RoboSource Database

Explorer ,
Feb 24, 2010 Feb 24, 2010

Hello, everyone. I just installed RoboSource Control 3.1

and am now trying to create a new database. I get the following error when I click the OK button on the Configure New Database window;

Unexpected exception :CREATE DATABASE failed. Some file names listed could not be created. Check related errors.

CREATE FILE encountered operating system error 5(Access Denied) while attempting to open or create the physical file 'C:\RoboHelp\testdb_DATA.MDF'.

This is on a Windows XP system.

Can anybody help me?

I got around this problem by leaving the path name blank in the

Configure Database window. The documentation does not recommend doing that so I am still a bit concerned and would prefer to have done it the "right" way. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I don't know if you have seen these, but there is an article and a Captivate demo that are "must reads" for getting RoboSource Control up and running.

Here is Matthew Ellison's fine article

http://www.adobe.com/devnet/robohelp/articles/robosource_print.html

Here is an Adobe TechNote

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/511/cpsid_51159.html

Here is the Captivate movie

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/511/cpsid_51163.html

I have RSC with SQL Express on a WinXP laptop, a Win 7 desktop and Win 7 laptop and all work just fine, but each step must be carefully followed.

Thanks
