extended ASCII (aka latin 8) characters in some of the *.htm and *.js files

When RoboHelp version 7 produces WebHelp (html based) help documents, some of the *.htm and *.js files contains 4 or 5 extended ASCII (aka latin 8) characters at the beginning of these files. The extra characters interfere with how a browser renders the HTML when the files are hosted on an HTTP server (apache HTTP server).

Any idea how this happens or how to fix it?
