Folders starting with ! - must they?

Explorer ,
Nov 07, 2012 Nov 07, 2012

Why are ther a couple of folders created with a starting "!", e.g. one (merged) project here starts with a "!",

under it !SSL!, !Language!, etc.

The ! prevents command line completion when being at the command line as I find.

So what's the mystery behind this naming convention?

It's deliberate to keep the project files separate from the output files

Hi there

While I agree the project files should always be kept separate from the output files, I have to say I disagree with the naming reason. I'm not even sure Adobe may know the why's and Wherefores of the surrounding bang symbols ( ! ).

One guess is that it forces the folders to be listed at the top of the list when viewing the files in Windows Explorer.

Cheers... Rick

Any folder that within the project that has the exclamation mark before and after will not appear in Project Manager, it's not just output folders.
