General Search for WebHelp

Participant ,

Hello All,

When using the general Search box located in the upper-right of the WebHelp output, what resource(s) is being used for this search? For example, when using the Index tab, WebHelp is searching the keywords I added for each page. Is the general search box just searching through page names? Also, does the general Search box do the same thing as the Search tab?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi LaKisha1

All the search input field does is to take what you have typed and present the findings over in the navigation pane. It is simply saving you the step of first clicking the Search tab, then typing what you are looking for and clicking the Go button.

As I understand it, the search is conducted across all words in your project. With the exception of words appearing in your "Stop list". This would be "noise" words, such as "and, or, if, a and things like that".

Hopefully this helped... Rick
