RoboHelp HTML 9.0.1.232, Word 2003 (SP3), Adobe Reader 10.0.1, Windows 7
Creating PDF output from a RH project. Progress bar gets to 95%+ and then hangs. Message box doesn't respond to the Cancel button. Have to kill the application from Windows task manager. 232 topics, new machine, decent processor, 4GB RAM.
Created a new Output Layout in the Single Source pod, to make sure there was nothing hooky lying around.
Any thoughts?

Adobe Reader does not create PDF files so that is not what is being used by your print layout.
First thing to try is deselecting PDF and using the Word option. That will tell you whether the problem is the content or creating PDFs generally. If it latter, verify that by trying to generate from one of the sample projects.
Click Open on the RoboHelp Starter page and then click Samples in the ribbon on the left.

Thanks for your thoughts. Problem solved now. Sample projects generated both PDF and Word separately. Real project generated Word but hung on PDF. Don't know for sure what sorted it since I was working through a few changes. One session at least had a stray Word process in task manager that may have been an issue. I also rebuilt the Word template for style mapping. Still slightly puzzled a relatively modest compile (200+ topics) takes 25 mins, but I'm up and running now.
