Generating WebHelp. The generated system's Search function does not work. Whatever I enter as a search string the system returns the same result - 'null'.

Hi people. I'm using Robohelp 10.0.1.292. When I generate WebHelp, the search facility does not work in the generataed system. It provides the single word 'null' in response to any search string I enter.

I notice that, in the whxdata file that is generated, there are no package_x.xml files created.

Do any of you have any ideas on what I can do to get RoboHelp working properly, please?

Is this only with a single project? Try one of the sample projects and generate those. Do you have package_x.xml files then?

Kind regards,

Willam

Hi Willam,

Thanks for your reply.

The problem is with every project I work on.

I tried one of the sample projects (Salesbuilder) and, as always, got no package.x.xml files.

Best regards,

MAM

In that case I suspect that there is an issue in your installation. I would recommend uninstalling RoboHelp and installing it again.

I may be unrelated, but I had a similar problem with RH9 when IT installed RH through a silent install. If RH was installed that way, the packages were not generated. If you manually installed RoboHelp, everything worked fine. I still don't know what caused it, installing manually worked for me and my colleagues.
