I am totally new to Robohelp and have a project created in Robohelp X5 and need to edit it. I cannot find any files which can be opened in Robohelp 7. I do not have Robohelp X5 to edit the file. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there

What you need to look for are the source files. Among these will be files with .FPJ extensions, files with .HTM extensions and a file with a .XPJ extension.

Do you find any files like these? If so, you have found your source files. If not, you may only have FlashHelp output files available to you. If that's the case you have some major cleanup and other tasks ahead of you.

If you find your source files, you open RoboHelp HTML and open the file with the .XPJ file extension and the project should open up. If you don't find your source files, you will be tasked with creating a new project, then importing the FlashHelp output files into the new project. Then you would need to scrub them of the added JavaScript code.

Hopefully this helps... Rick

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I was given a CD with the project on it and it looks like it only contains the output files. Hopefully the source files are on the server in the office, in some backup directory or other. Either way it is still going to be a bit of a job ahead of me. Thanks again.
