Highlight search results removes spaces from highlighted terms

Explorer ,
Dec 10, 2009 Dec 10, 2009

I have a Web Help project that when viewed with Highlight search results turned on removes spaces from between and around highlighted terms. For example, if I search for red dog and red dog is in the topic, the user sees reddog highlighted. Also if red house is in the topic they see redhouse with red highlighted. I am using RoboHelp 7 to create and compile this project. The project is being viewed in IE 7. Any ideas would be appreciated. My QA folks think I have missing spaces and after investigation I figured out what was causing it, just don't know if there is anyway to prevent the behavior.

Thanks,

Nita

I just tested this in RH8 and it is OK. I'll test in RH7 later but I think it was good there too. Try in a new project.

It works correctly in RH7 as well. Try that new project.

Thanks Peter. I tried with a test project and it seems to work OK. The challenge is this is a huge project and will not be fun to re-create. I'll stop complaining and get busy. Thanks for your quick and thorough response.

You could try creating a new layout for the webhelp output, not a duplicate.

Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately it didn't fix the issue. I'll try to move to a new project and see what happens. Wacky project! Thanks for your help.
