How are margins determined in RH9? They seem really wide - wasting space

I'm experimenting with outputting to PDF in RH9. Is there a way to adjust the margins of the output? What does it default to, an inch on each side? It seems like to much white space to me.

If you want more control over the PDF, output to Word first and fix it there, then generate the PDF.

You like the fact that when it generates a Word document, Heading 1 in Flare is not a Heading 1 in Word, thus preventing trainers and the like from working on it?

If I wanted people to work on it when I was done, then that could be an issue. I'm talking about producing final documentation from one source with as little reworking as possible. Adjusting margins and page breaks in Word seems wasteful if I have a last minute changes.

You only need to make the change once in your lifetime. Well not quite but what you do is change the margins in the template that you use. Then whenever you regenerate, as long as you use the same template, it does not need to be changed again.

That option is, of course, only available if you map to a Word template rather than create documents using your CSS styles.

The trick is to spend time on the template once. Add new styles if needed. Adjust the paper size if needed. Also keep an original of the supplied style mapping template so that you can always go back to that if needed. It's time well spent.

See Printed Documentation on my site for more detailed information.
