How Do I copy an Existing Project and Rename it?

New Here ,
Feb 05, 2014 Feb 05, 2014

I created a User's Guide for Windows for our birding software in RoboHelp 10 and generated the files I need using Microsoft_HTML_Help (under single source layout.) It looks great!

Now I simply need to duplicate the entire Users Guide but name it "Mac Version." Then I need to tweak a few pages and save it [ as Web Help ?? ] I created a new RoboHelp Project named Mac Users Guide that has no content. I must be one step away from finishing, but I do not see exactly what to do next. Clicking New and Import is not the answer and renaming is not the answer. I realize that this is a really stupid question - but I just need a simple answer! Thanks.

Close the project.

In Windows Explorer use Copy and Paste.

When you open the copy, just rename the project.

Hi there

Your answer is your question.

You copy the project, then you rename it.

So close the project in RoboHelp, open Windows Explorer, copy the project files and folders to a different location, then open the copied version in RoboHelp. Once you have it open, click File > Rename Project in RoboHelp and you should be good.

One way to easily get Windows Explorer open at your project folder is to right-click a project file in your Project Manager pod and choose Explore...

Cheers... Rick
