I'm working in RH 8.0.2.208 and am generating Adobe AIR help (with the Browser based HelpOutput Type). I've scanned the forums but haven't seen this particular issue. In a nutshell, all of my topics are associated with a Master Page that shows breadcrumbs at the top of the page. However, when I view my output, several of my topics are missing the expected breadcrumbs. I've double checked the properties of these topics and all of them have the proper Master Page selected. All are also listed in the project's TOC. Ironically, if I view the project as WebHelp instead of Adobe AIR, all of the topics do display breadcrumbs. What am I missing?

Hi there
You probably need adjust the location of the Breadcrumbs placeholder inside your Master Page.
Note that when you are editing the Master Page you have a Placeholder named "Body". My guess is that the Breadcrumbs placeholder is inside the Bode placeholder. And if that's the case, you will only get Breadcrumbs for topics you created using that Master Page.
Edit the Master Page and remove the Breadcrumbs placeholder. Then add a new one to the area just above the Body placeholder. Sort of in that "no man's land" where it's not the Body placeholder but it's not the Header field.
Once you make that change, any topic associated with that particular Master Page should now have Breadcrumbs.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for your suggestion. As it turns out, it's not the placement of the placeholder, it seems to be a TOC issue. I've done some testing and any topic that has more than one reference in the TOC will not display breadcrumbs. Topics with only one instance in the TOC do show breadcrumbs. From my perspective, this is a bug, since when WebHelp is generated, every topic displays breadcrumbs--showing the path to its first reference in the TOC (if the topic exists in more than one section of the TOC).
