How do I UNmerge indexes when I can't find the subproject icon?

I inherited a huge project in RoboHelp HTML 7. The index in this project is merged with the index in another project. I need to UNmerge the two indexes, but I cannot find the subproject icon in the TOC pod. Is there any other way to UNmerge the two projects - especially the two indexes?

In thinking about this, I'm wondering.

Are there ANY links in your project that might be pointing to topics inside the other project? I ask, because I recall a few years back that when a CHM file is compiled, the compiler follows all links in all topics to try and pull in everything it needs to build the final CHM file.

So my thought here is that if you had a topic with a link that pointed to a topic in a different location, perhaps that's how the entries are finding their way into the CHM file.
