How to add Print button to FlashHelp skin?

New Here ,

I'm nearly finished with my first Robohelp site and really like the software. This is probably a very obvious or even silly question, but for some reason, I am not seeing it. I want to add a print button to the FlashHelp skin to allow users to print individual topic pages they are viewing. I have seen this function on other sample FlashHelp sites. I just cannot see where you elect to include print button when generating the site? (fyi - I am not looking to export to Word or PDF - rather have users be able to simply print the page they are viewing.)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hi TK545661

When you double-click the FlashHelp Single Source Layout and work through the dialogs, you should see an option to include a Print button in the main toolbar.

Cheers... Rick

Rick - thanks for the reply. I was using the "FlashHelp Pro" menu to preview. Its dialogue does not have the option to select or deselect print. The standard FlashHelp menu had it. Duh. Thanks again!

This has been driving me crazy as well. I noticed no answer to where it went. The print button shows in the skin but not in the project. I guess it's like the natural language search. Adobe doesn’t think we need it and removed it.  Hey thanks guys!

Hi there

So you are publishing FlashHelp Pro to a RoboHelp Server? If you aren't doing this you don't need FlashHelp Pro. Use FlashHelp.

I cannot tell you the number of times I've seen folks opt for the "Pro" outputs because they think they are like the normal outputs but on steroids or something. They think they are missing out on features. It's a common misunderstanding.

Cheers... Rick

It's even better. Yes we have the server. We go it so we could have natural

language search and guess what? They got rid of that too.

RH doesn't do a natural language search anymore? Did I miss that? I thought it did. Can someone verify whether this is true or not? We are using the FlashHelp Pro (and yes we have the RoboServer piece) and part of the reason was for the better search capability. Though I suspect the ranking is highly suspect as I have never gotten it to rank correctly since setting it up.

Regards,

CJ

Natural language search went when RoboHelp 6 was introduced. Whilst there were some mutterings at the time, it doesn't seem to have been an issue since. I think this is the first post about it in a couple of years at least.

There is information about ranking in the RoboHelp Tour on my site.

Hmm, maybe the search has always worked pretty well for me so I must not have noticed when it went away. Guess I just thought it was always there. I did start a new thread (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/654935?tstart=0) because I'm interested in the searches being ranked properly. John replied but neither option ranks the as expected nor based on the stated order as supplied by Adobe.

I guess this could be a permissions issue, but I'll leave that to the other threads I got going.

Thanks for updating this post. Can't believe I missed that .
