.htm file missing

In RH5, the .htm file for the start page is missing from the Flashhelp folder (under !SSL!). The start page functions properly on the user end but the .htm file does not appear in the folder.

Could Windows be causing the file to not be displayed?

Welcome to the forum.

No way I know it can hide an htm file.

You cannot all be pointing at the same location. It cannot be there for some people and not for others.

Thanks for the quick reply. After further review, it appears as if RH5 is not creating the .htm file after generating the primary layout. When I try to view the primary layout (immediately after generating), nothing happens. No error message shows up and RH5 doesn't lock up but it doesn't display the primary layout. The primary output is set to Flashpoint.

Why might RH5 not allow the primary layout to be viewed and not create the .htm file? If the primary output is set to Flashpoint, is an .htm file automatically created?

Hi qukcf

This can happen for many reasons. I believe one reason is that RoboHelp may not be properly installed with the correct rights. Another would be that the XML parser is missing. But odds are the issue lies with the former and not the latter.

You should check Peter's site and look at his topic on Installing RoboHelp. You may do just that by clicking here.

Cheers... Rick
