Some of you may recall me posting a few weeks ago that I inherited a mess that consists of CHM files instead of individual topics for csh. Each link for CSH calls a full CHM file. Now I am trying to pull them all into one project and set them up properly for use in our NEW product.
So, I poked around the forums and saw in one place that there was an IMPORT PROJECT option - but that doesn't seem to exist in RH10. The Merge Projects option doesn't seem to be what I need either at this point.
I am simply trying to do a test to see what is involved with pulling in old htm topics to my new project with its own set of topics. I saw on one of the forums that I could import a topic, but everything else would have to be manually moved over (like images, and other topic related files). So, instead of importing the topic, I simply went to the folder of the old chm project and copied anything and everything that had the project name (in this case "Scheduler") in the file name. I then pasted it into my project. This included 2 style sheets, several images, and things like apj, cpd, brs, etc.
However, when I open my project into which I copied all those files, I don't see anything relating to those files. So, I thought perhaps I had not copied in the htm - I then tried to just import just the topic "Scheduler" from the chm project file. However, in doing that I got an error that said that the file already existed in the project. But I'm not seeing it in the Project Manager... WHAT STEP OR TRICK OR OBVIOUS ISSUE AM I MISSING?
Peter is right but in re-reading this, I think I am seeing what the issue is.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but it seems you are thinking that perhaps RoboHelp should be behaving similar to Dreamweaver. Here's what I mean. In Dreamweaver, you manipulate HTML pages just as you do with RoboHelp. And by manipulate, I mean creating links between them, adding and removing content.
Dreamweaver simply works with existing files on the drive. And if you copied a file from one folder and plopped it into the

@Kelly - That's a dangerous question for a blond to ask! ![]()
One more old trick first. In Project Manager rename the folder with the missing image, you can restore the desired name afterwards.
If that doesn't work, see the Contact page on my site for instructions on how to send the project. Also send the image that is giving grief.

You can probably tell that it's not the first time I've asked that question? ![]()
Ok... so no luck with changing the folder name... and it isn't just one image that's missing from the folder, but if we can figure out one, maybe the rest will follow... I have just transferred the zipped file to you, along with an extra copy of the original image file we chatted about. I received a confirmation email that my files had been transferred, so if you don't see them, please be sure to let me know. Total size of transfer: a little over 12mb.
Thanks, Peter!

yes... I was just thinking that it wouldn't work because i already have the
source files...
As I mentioned, I copied all the project files that related to the name of
the project "Scheduler"... so in the files that i copied and pasted into my
NEW existing project were the following file types:
- ali
- brs
- cpd
- glo
- hhc
- hhk
- hhp
- htm
- ign
- ildb
- phr
- ppf
- pss
- stp
- syn
basically everything but the xpj.
I copied them into the same folder as my new project files of the same
type. I copied the images into my image folder and put them in a folder
named for their project name.
Now... here's something interesting... I can't see the new image folder i
created called 7-Scheduler from within the new project. I can see all of
the files via Explorer but can see NONE of them from within RH... I have
quadruple checked that i have them in the right project folder... so why
can't i see them from within my project?
I suspect it's something super obvious i'm missing.
