Image Location with Mouse Rollover

Guest
Feb 09, 2009 Feb 09, 2009
After generating as printed documentation, all pages, all images and information is accurate. Issue is with the mouse rollover of the displayed images on the printed documentation. When mouse is rolled over... the tooltip is displayed which actually displays the original image location... How can this be changed to simply display the image name or remove this tip in general?

Working with Robohelp version 8....

OK! Over multiple attempts of trial and error for Robohelp 8.. I HAVE FIGURED OUT HOW TO ENABLE OR DISABLE THIS FEATURE!

I will share with you all, in case I am not the only one with this issue!

You must:

open the printed documentation single source layout properties.
Click on PDF Settings
Then click on Enable accessibility and reflow with Tagged PDF

This will disable all links as well the image locations!! WHEW~ what a morning!

Welcome to our community, Joe

I'm confused. How is this appearing when the document has been printed? Where is it showing up?

Cheers... Rick

Thanks Rick. I am generating in PDF. After I generate the PDF, then open to view the PDF - everything looks good. Although the issue is inside the generate PDF... when any viewer puts the mouse cursor over any displayed image.. an automatic "tooltip" or yellow window appears that displays the spefic images original hard drive location... someone can read the PDF that is in a different state than I am... and my harddrive location will be displayed when the mouse over any image within the generate PDF.

Hi again

Ahhh, I see now.

Hmmm, I'm thinking a feature request is in order.

Aside from that, perhaps output to Word, then use some Word search and destroy trickery to blow away the tool tips. Then generate the PDF from the modified Word document. Not sure if that's possible, but may be worth trying.

Cheers... Rick

In the Images pane of the Generate wizard's first page, have you selected Link to documents...? If so, try selecting Embed in documents.... See if that helps.

Good luck,
Leon

Thanks for your input. Although that has already been attempted with the same results.

This is getting very frustrating! You would think there would be a way to disable or enable this as a feature. I mean... you're telling me that anyone to launches this PDF can have access to my drive locations... crazy.

Hi Joe

I don't believe that's the case at all. More than likely you are seeing what we call "Alternative Text". Simply showing where that image was at the time the PDF was created. There is no way that a user could access your hard drive from that. At worst, they gain a small glimpse of how you structure the content on your drive.

Cheers... Rick
