In Firefox link to topic under a book opens the book link

When I first open my webhelp project in Firefox, if I click on a link to a topic that is in a closed TOC book with a link to another topic, the topic I selected very briefly displays and then the book link topic displays. The topic link is on a page in the project so the Book containing the topic has not yet been opened. It is as if when the topic is displayed, the TOC book opens to show the current topic as highlighted in its book, but then the book topic opens.

This only happens the first time I access a topic in a book.

BTW, when viewing the book linked topic, the Back button returns me to the topic I had originally selected. So it is essentially opening the topic I select then opening the topic linked to the book that contains the selected topic.
