Index in RH 7

Guest

If you’re in the Index pod in RH 7, and you type “Z” in the field where you can add index entries (and assuming you have an index entry that starts with Z), shouldn’t the Index take you to the Z index entry?

Typing a Z in that field does nothing.

I just upgraded to 7.0.2 this AM and it still doesn't work. This has worked for every version I have ever used, starting with RH 2000 way back when. Has anyone seen this, fixed this, explored this....

Please help me if you can

That's the way it works in the output but not the index creation pod. Will check in an older version later.

It works that way in X5.0.2.

Good luck,

I don't know if we're talking about the same thing. I've prepared a Word doc that shows my issue. Please e-mail me at phanson at quintrex dot com and I'll send it to you.

I have X5.0.2 installed on the Virtual Machine I am transitioning from to Vista and what I'm seeing in RH 7 does *not* happen in X5.0.2.

Ahhhh...the plot thickens, Watson!

X502 (or RH6) is not supported on Vista; only RH7 is.

X502 never worked well on "virtual machines" (read: network).

Good luck,
Leon

Okay... I have a Vista PC.

I use VMware Player on this Vista PC.

The virtual PC I run with VMware player is my old W2K PC that has RH X5.

On my old W2K PC that has RH X5 on it, I don't see what I see when I try to do the same thing on my Vista PC with RH 7.

Make sense?

In X5 when you add a new index keyword, it syncs with existing keywords as far as it can. In RH7 it doesn't,

Don't know why but I will advise Adobe.
