Index Keyword Search Field

I am having a problem getting keyword terms I type in the Index search field to display the correct pages with the keyword. It displays random unrelated pages. Is there a special setting I need to set to get the keyword search terms I type in to show matching results.

Also, if I wanted to omit the Index button from the interface entirely can I do that? Thanks.

Are you actually referring to the Index? I ask because it sounds as if perhaps you may be referring to Search instead.

With the Index, you enter a term (in the Index designer) and you then associate topics with the term.

Can you be more explicit about how it is failing?
