I have the same problem. I compile the help and view the index; new topics that I've created appear there. When I send it to another person for review they cannot see the updated topics in the index.

After looking at this more I've noticed that the .cnt and .hlp files aren't updated after I compile. Why is this? What do I need to do to fix it?

Regards,

Niall.

Hi Niall.

Are you looking at the correct destination for the CNT and HLP files. Check your single source layout properties for the output path. Then make sure your other user is looking at the same file as you.

This may be better placed in the WinHelp forum as this forum is designed for users outputting Microsoft HTML Help.

Hi Colum,

I've opened the SSL Properties window and entered in a folder for the hlp files to be generated to. Now when I compile the help no hlp file is displayed. I deleted the previous files from that location, as they weren't updating so I thought that may be the problem.

The file seems to compile correctly, I just cannot locate the cnt or hlp files.

Regards,

Niall.

Niall.

Can you confirm which RH version you are using and that you are using the RH for Word application. Assuming you are using RH for Word, when you compile do you get any messages in the compile message window that could indicate a failure? Does it say the HLP file was successfully built for example?

Hi Colum

I was able to resolve the issue by deleting the folder location in the properties window and cutting and pasting the new location in. This seems to have worked.

I use Robohelp 6.0.

Thanks for your help,

Niall.

Hi all

As .CNT and .HLP file types are being mentioned, this HAS to be RoboHelp for Word. RoboHelp HTML does not support creating WinHelp.

I'm moving this thread to the RoboHelp for Word forum category.

Cheers... Rick
