Dear all,
I am using RH HTML 9 to generate chm file from my project. The problem is when I click on topic 1, topic 2, topic 3 in turn in the Content pane. After that I click the Back button three times, topic 2 is highlighted on the Content pane, although the content of the topic 1 is displayed on the right pane. I think the topic 1 should be highlighed on the Content pane. Is it a bug of Microsoft HTML Help ?
Please help me understand what Microsoft HTML Help does in generating .chm within RoboHelp 9 ?
Thank you.

Hi there
Sounds like you need to enable synchronization.
You do this in the Window properties. (Project Set-up pod > Windows)

I haven't seen anyone else report this specific issue. I just tested a Rh9 CHM and it works correctly. Try creating a new project with just a few topics with the default text. See if that works as desired.

Dear Peter,
I already created a blank project and some topics inside with default text, created table of contents too. Then I generated to CHM file without configuring window properties.
But this specific issue still occurs.
I try to use some other authoring tools to generate CHM files. That issue still occurs with those software.
So this issue is not caused by RoboHelp 9. I really don't know where it come from.

I think it may be time to check your Microsoft HTML Help configuration. Use the link below to check it and post back:

Dear RoboColum(n),
The following is the report from my machine. Please help me check it. I really don't have experience in this. Thank you so much.
MJ's Help Report
A common problem with HTML Help 1.x is DLLs not correctly registered during installation. This utility checks all components and registers DLLs if required. We also report if the RoboHelp DLL is registered, and if MS Help 2 components are installed and registered.
After running the report, try running your program again to see if the fault has cleared.

There appear to be a few areas of the report that suggest you have components only partially installed ot not installed at all. See the HTML Help 1.x Components and MS Help 2 Run Time Components sections for example. I think the best course of action would be to reinstall the HTML Help Workshop. Hi there
To add to Colum's advice, when you install HHW, it will likely report that a newer version is already installed.
