Map IDs and upgrading to RoboHelp 8

Explorer ,
Sep 24, 2009 Sep 24, 2009

On this subject, I am upgrading from RH X5 to RH8 - and am using RoboHelp for Word for one project.  This project uses the map IDs generated by RoboHelp - and I give the map IDs to the developers of the app to "attach" to the VB forms.  This is a big application, and the "attachments" have been in place for years now.  So we don't want to have to change the VB form properties for the Help context ID (map IDs).

Will my map IDs for this project remain intact when I upgrade to RH 8??  Hoping that I will still have them safe and sound.

Thanks!

Susan

Your mapids should remain intact. If in doubt, download the trial, make a copy of the RH project and open it in RH8. I'd be surprised if there are any issues although I haven't used RH for Word for a long time.

Hi all

Susan, your question is about RoboHelp for Word so I'm unsure why you decided to ask it in a thread found in a forum category about RoboHelp HTML.

I'm going to split this thread into a thread of its own so the question and Colum's answer both appear in the proper forum category.

Cheers all... Rick
