Merge Projets with RoboHelp Server

Guest

Hello,

I'm not very familiar with RoboHelp Server so i hope that i would be clear,

Is it possible to develop a part of an online project without being connected to the Server in order to import it later thanks to Robohelp server. For instance if the online help is divided into 3 parts, can 3 people work at the same time without being connected on the server (with their own robohelp licence) ? Later is it possible to import their projet thanks to the RoboHelp Server licence? Then if i want just to update a page, do i have to be connected with RoboHelp server or can i do this update with my Robohelp licence (without being connected) ?

Thanks for your precious help,

br,

Bernard

Hi Bernard -

First, I presume that you are referring to "RoboSource Control," not RoboHelp Server, which is a different product.

Yes, you can develop an online project in RoboHelp first, and then add it to source control later. (RoboSource Control allows one help project per database.)

If you start the project by dividing the work into three separate projects, you have two ways you can combine the projects again:
- Pick one project to be the main project and import topics from the other two projects. (Then discard the other two projects.)
- Use the RoboHelp mergedProjects feature to combine the projects. (Do a search in these forums to find more information. There is a lot of discussion about this.)

If you decide on the mergedProjects solution, you might not need to use RoboSource Control.
